RoundOneFight is run by Sameer Noorani, trading as RoundOneFight, in the UK. We’re the controller of the personal data described here. Questions or requests: [email protected].
What we collect
- A device cookie. A random id that keeps your votes counted once and lets the feed learn what you like. If you sign in, a second cookie keeps you signed in.
- What you do on the site. Your votes (including how long you took to vote), fights you were shown, skipped or opened, topics you picked or hid, and shares.
- Comments you post, and reactions to comments.
- Your Google account basics if you sign in with Google: name, email address and profile picture.
- A scrambled form of your IP address. We keep a keyed hash, not the address itself, to stop vote stuffing and abuse.
- Where you came from: the site that linked you here, if any.
Your browser also stores your feed preferences (topics, layout) locally. That never leaves your device.
There are no ads, no analytics services and no third-party tracking scripts on this site.
Why
To run the site and the feed, count votes fairly, keep comments civil, and stop abuse. Our legal basis is legitimate interests. The cookies we use are strictly necessary for these purposes, so we don’t ask for cookie consent.
What we never do
We never sell your personal data. We may publish or license aggregated, anonymised vote statistics (for example “62% picked Batman”, or how preferences differ over time). These can’t identify you. Content written by AI is labelled and kept separate from yours.
Who else sees it
Your comments and handle are public. Otherwise, data is shared only with the companies that host and deliver the site (our server provider and our network provider), and with Google when you choose to sign in with Google.
How long we keep it
Votes and activity are kept while the site runs, because they make up the results. Accounts and comments are kept until you delete them or ask us to. Backups roll over within weeks.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to erase it (we delete your account and comments and unlink your votes). You can also object to how we use it. Email [email protected]. If you’re unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
